Cabka awarded as a sustainable company
Cabka receives silver medal from Ecovadis for continuous efforts in sustainability.
Cabka has taken the EcoVadis assessment for sustainable companies this year and once again received the silver medal. This proves that the specialist for load carriers made of recycled plastic can combine technology and innovation with sustainability.
"We are very pleased with the award, which proves that we are on the right track with our continuous efforts," emphasises Geert de Wilde, Chief Operations Officer at Cabka. "Our goal is to work with our customers to transform global supply chains based on a functioning circular economy." The fact that sustainability is a central part of the way the company works is also shown by the score of 58 points achieved in the evaluation. This puts Cabka in the top 25 percent of all evaluated companies. Among the manufacturers of plastic products, the specialist even ranks among the best 20 percent.
For the manufacturer of pallets and large containers made of recycled plastic, sustainability and economic efficiency are not exclusive. The specialists are constantly identifying new plastic waste streams and developing them into a source of material for Cabka's products. "Ecovadis covers a whole range of sustainable requirements from different industries and constantly sets new accents. This helps us to continuously improve our structures from a sustainability perspective," adds Katrin Poirier, Sustainability Director at Cabka.
The rating agency EcoVadis wants to motivate companies to engage in the areas of environment, ethics, labour and human rights as well as sustainable procurement and to be evaluated regularly. It takes a close look at more than 90,000 companies from 160 countries and 200 different industries and rates them based on their measures, policies and procedures.
