kiwifruit pruning - essential but not easy
Kiwifruit is type of orchard facing different issues in the recent years, due to climate change, new parassites and deseases. Though, kiwifruit production worldwide is stable and new varieties contributed to this stability, granting a major resilience to these challenges.
On its side, CaBa Industrie was asked to find a solution to make kiwifruit pruning system easier and more cost-effective for farmers, who are very present in Emilia-Romagna region, in Northern Italy. This demand for mechanisation in kiwifruit pruning led the company to develop a new bar kit specdifically designed for kiwifruit - both green and yellow type. This bar kit had the aim to allow farmers to prune on two sides at the same time. In addition, the developed solution has been appreciated by farmers, especially because they are able to mount the green-cut bar kit for kiwifruit on the trimmers they already own.
