Reduce the cost of manual thinning

Thinning operations are one of the longest and non-cost-effective operations that any peach farmer has to do, in order to get better and more tasteful fruits. Thanks to the Lotti new fruit thinning machine, mounted on the multifunctional CT 80 tool carrier, this operation is now more effective and less expensive.

.The thinning element, thanks to its nylon brushes, can easily drop the fruits down the orchard without damaging the remaining ones. The CT 80 trimmer - which can be also equipped with cutting bars and blossom thinning units - makes furthermore possible to adjust the efficiency of the thinning element, by tilting or moving it in the best possible working position.

The tests we carried out on our fruit region, Emilia-Romagna, made clear the effectiveness of the mechanical fruit thinning machine, showing an average reduction of the thinning costs of about 60%, depending on the peach variety it has been used. The fruit thinning machine makes furthermore possible to carry out this work when frosty nights are no more a threat in the season, because it can be used on peaches up to 2 weeks before the harvest.
