VT-BOX-II, the second iteration of 3Rtablet’s rugged vehicle telematics box, which is now on the market! This state-of-the-art telematics device can be developed to realize seamless connectivity and communication between the vehicle and various external systems (such as smartphones, central command centers, and emergency services). Telematics box, similar to conventional vehicle-mounted terminal, consist of a processor, a GPS module, a 4G module (with sim card function) and other interfaces (CAN, USB, RS232, etc.). Following software development, it becomes able to read and transmit the vehicle state information (such as speed, fuel usage, position) to the cloud server for managers to check on a computer or smartphone. What’s more, by installing the corresponding software on this remote information box, it is also possible to remotely control the door, lock or horn of the vehicle.

VT-BOX-II is powered by Android 12.0 operating system, supporting richer functions and superior performance. Adopted with Quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 64-bit processor, its main frequency can be up to 2.0G. In applications of vehicle monitoring and remote management, it has shown outstanding ability in information processing, multi-task processing and quick response.

In terms of extended cable, on the basis of the original the first generation box: VT-BOX (GPIO, ACC, CANBUS and RS232), the options of RS485, Analog input and 1-wire are added to VT-BOX-II. So that more functions can be realized to meet the different requirements.

Built-in Wi-Fi/BT/GNSS/4G functions realize the needs of positioning and communication, making it easier to operate and manage. We also provide optional iridium module and antenna interface installation services. As Iridium state on its official website that “Iridium’s unique constellation architecture makes it the only network that covers 100% of the planet”. Equipped with this satellite system, VT-BOX-II can get in touch with external servers in the places without 4G signal to deal with all kinds of unexpected situations.

In order to further enhance the security of the device, a tamper-proof function was integrated into VT-BOX-II. When the device is turned on or in sleep mode, once the motherboard and shell are separated, or the expansion cable/DC power supply is disconnected, the power indicator will flash and immediately give an alarm to the system. Thus, manager can cover all the devices that has not been turned off, greatly reduce the risk of equipment and information loss.

It’s important to note that the VT-BOX-II can achieve zero power consumption after shutdown. In the low power consumption mode, that is, only the functions of tamper-proof alarm and waking up the system at any time are reserved, and the power consumption is only about 0.19W. In this mode, most vehicle batteries can support the device for nearly half a year. The characteristics of ultra-low power consumption not only save resources, but also prevents the potential safety hazards of equipment batteries and prolong the service life.

The sturdy design of the equipment meets the IP67 and IP69K ratings, ensures that the device’s interior won’t be invaded by dust and won’t be damaged after being immersed in water less than one meter deep for 30 minutes or exposed to high-temperature water flow below 80°C. Comply MIL-STD-810G standard, it can withstand impacts and significantly reduces the possibility of damage from unintentional falls and collisions. No matter mine operation or other outdoor works, there is no need to worry about being affected or destroyed by extreme environment.
