Types of Shockwave Anti-Hail Protection System
Fixed or Portable | Choose the Best Option
Hail can wreak havoc on crops in a matter of minutes, causing significant losses for farmers. To combat this issue, Grupo SPAG has created an innovative anti-hail system based on shock waves. This system uses a mixture of acetylene gas and oxygen to generate controlled explosions that produce shock waves, which help to reduce the size of the hail through friction, thereby minimising potential damage.
There are two main types of systems: the fixed system and the portable system.
The fixed system is designed to protect areas of up to 80 hectares and requires a stable foundation. It is ideal for large expanses of crops that need constant protection.
On the other hand, the portable system does not require a foundation, making it perfect for smaller crop areas or for those who need flexibility to move the system according to the specific needs of the season.
Both systems feature the advantage of automated operation, synchronised with meteorological radars that continuously monitor weather conditions. This means that farmers do not need to intervene manually, as the system activates automatically when the threat of hail is detected. This advanced technology provides an additional layer of security and peace of mind, ensuring that crops are efficiently and effectively protected against one of the most destructive weather phenomena.
