The Future Takes Shape with SLPA

Steel profiling made in Les Landes, serving viticulture for 30 years

In 2025, SLPA celebrates 30 years of expertise and innovation in the manufacture of vineyard stakes.

This industrial gem of southwestern France has built a strong reputation to become the leading 100% French reference in steel trellising for vineyards and orchards.

Quality, proximity, and tailor-made solutions: the SLPA signature

As a profiling expert, SLPA (Société Landaise de Profilage Acier) quickly ventured into the development of vineyard trellising products for nearby regions such as Gers, Charente, and Cognac. Some growers became the first converts to SLPA® vineyard stakes.

Benchmark products that have become essentials

Since 1995, SLPA has built its viticultural trellising expertise through close and ongoing collaboration with industry players (cooperatives, winemakers, nurseries, distributors…) to understand their challenges and needs.

This attentiveness and proximity have allowed SLPA to develop the most comprehensive product range on the market, with over 25 references (intermediate stakes with catches/notches, end posts, training stakes). Each product is tailored to the specific needs and constraints of different regions, and many have become industry standards.

• Perfo®

The patented, modular stake with adaptable accessories, favored by the most demanding winegrowers.

• SL+®

The flagship SLPA® stake, versatile and highly durable.

• Vulcain®

The strongest stake, offering optimal ground grip on tough terrain, ideal for high-yield, tall vines.

All SLPA® products can be fully customized to meet the specific needs of growers (notch type, spacing, steel grade, etc.).

Facing viticulture challenges with SLPA’s expertise

“Our role, as experts in trellising solutions, is to adapt to both the needs of the crop and the people

behind it.” — Jérémy Lassalle, SLPA Director

In a sensitive and uncertain climate where investments are tighter, SLPA’s experience and know- how remain reliable values.

SLPA® products are constantly evolving to meet the changing demands of viticulture, whether in terms of soil types, mechanization requirements, cultivation techniques, vineyard topography, or climatic conditions.

SLPA provides effective technical solutions that ensure sustainable, profitable investments.

• High-quality solutions at the best price, designed to suit the specific needs of each vineyard—such as the new PCL stake, developed for optimal performance-to-price ratio and particularly suited for mechanical harvesting.

• Responsible, sustainable, and efficient solutions, aligned with future challenges for all market stakeholders. For example, all SLPA® products are available in low-carbon steel.

“For viticulture, steel is undeniably the best alloy thanks to its strength, durability, recyclability, and formability, allowing us to deliver high-value products specifically designed for winemakers’ needs.”

SLPA: A committed player in the industry

SLPA continues its mission to positively support the development of the winegrowing sector and to help ensure the long-term profitability of vineyards.

Closer than ever to the viticultural ecosystem

“SLPA’s strength lies in the advice and close relationships we maintain with our clients. Our teams are in the field, working alongside winemakers and their partners to deliver the most suitable solutions.”

In 2025, SLPA is expanding its partnerships across the industry—especially with distributors—aiming to build trusted relationships across all wine regions.

Two new SLPA® products launched in 2025 are the result of listening and working closely with industry players:

• PCL

The most optimized stake in the SLPA® range, featuring a new profile and the innovative “Omega Ω” notch design, making it easier to attach and detach lifting wires. The PCL’s ergonomics and strength make it adaptable to a wide range of conditions.

• PRG70

A testament to SLPA’s know-how, the PRG70 is a catch-stake with 70mm spacing, specifically developed to meet AOC requirements in northeastern French vineyards (Alsace, Chablis, Burgundy…).

Innovation: the DNA of SLPA

“In a time when everyone is looking to reduce operating costs, SLPA continues to innovate and provide solutions that help winegrowers work more efficiently and easily.”

The INT3NSE™️ system embodies this commitment

This patented, modular trellising system—officially presented at the latest VINITECH SIFEL trade show in Bordeaux—is designed to protect vines from extreme weather, particularly harsh winters.

Its development showcases the full scope of SLPA’s expertise:

• Created in partnership with Vitis-Import, a specialist in extreme vineyard conditions (Canada)

• A 3-in-1 solution, refined from the SLPA® range (end and row posts with double-section and arch)

• Fully manufactured and assembled in France

• Tested and approved by vineyard operators across Canada’s coldest provinces

SLPA also participates in INNO’VIN, the regional innovation cluster for the wine industry in Nouvelle-Aquitaine—demonstrating its strong commitment to innovation alongside the ecosystem’s key players.
