Silos Spain Completes the Assembly of the 4,000-Ton Silo in Chile

A key component in the expansion of Alisur's wheat storage facility in Chile.

Silos Spain has successfully completed the assembly of the 4,000-ton silo, a key component in the expansion of Alisur's wheat storage facility in Chile. This installation, carried out under strict safety and quality standards, utilizes ProMag-coated sheet metal—a state-of-the-art alloy of aluminum, magnesium, and zinc that offers exceptional durability and corrosion resistance.

The 20.63/10 model silo, designed in accordance with ANSI standards and structurally reinforced to withstand seismic activity (in line with UBC 1997), incorporates cutting-edge technology to ensure efficient and secure storage. Its key features include:

• Level Detectors: Equipped with both maximum (pendular) and minimum (capacitive) level detectors for precise monitoring of its contents.

• Optimized Ventilation: Ventilation grilles and high-performance centrifugal fans ensure proper air circulation.

• Advanced Temperature Control: A next-generation CTC system, complemented by strategically placed sensors, maintains ideal storage conditions.

• Access and Maintenance: Catwalks and ladders are designed to facilitate operations and ensure safe maintenance interventions.

In addition, Silos Spain has optimized the grain handling system with chain conveyors, inlet and outlet hoppers, and an interior sweeper—elements that contribute to maximizing the plant's operational efficiency.

The completion of this silo not only strengthens Alisur's storage capacity but also lays the groundwork for a safer, more efficient, and sustainable operation in Chile’s agri-food sector. This milestone represents a decisive step in Silos Spain’s commitment to innovation and excellence in industrial grain storage solutions.
