Dammann tri-axle trailed sprayer offers 20,000-litre capacity

Sprayers don’t get much bigger than the tri-axle Tridem from German maker Dammann, which sports a colossal 20,000-litre tank.

The machine is designed for some of the biggest farms in Europe, tipping the scales at more than 30t when full and requiring the services of a 350hp tractor up front.

Boom widths are less obscene than the tank capacity, with either 36m or 42m options available.

To support this bulk, the machine runs on three air-sprung axles fitted with either 38in or 42in rims and the option of 2.15-2.25m track width.

There are also dual-circuit air brakes, hydraulic drawbar suspension and the option of reducing pressure on the front axle to transfer more weight to the tractor, giving some additional grip.

Hydraulic forced steering is fitted to both the front and rear axles to help it track behind the tractor without cutting corners.

Other standard features include a 500-litre clean water tank, electro-pneumatic slope compensation, twin nozzle shut-off and Isobus control.

There is also a comprehensive options list, offering add-ons such as quad nozzle bodies, an exterior wash-down kit and a tyre pressure control system.

The Tridem is still in the testing phase, so it’s not available to order just yet.
