Weidemann 11-tonne series is expanded to include two new models.

Weidemann announced at Agritechnica the expansion of the powerful 90-series.

This now includes a total of three different models for particularly heavy materials handling. In addition to the 9080 wheel loader already available on the market, the series will now be expanded to include the 800 kg model 9580 with load arm and the 9580T tele wheel loader.

The 9580 is seen as an expansion of the 9080. The 9580 is equipped by default with a Deutz TCD 4.1 S5 (115 kW/156 hp) engine. DOC (diesel oxidation catalytic converter), DPF (diesel particle filter) and SCR (selective catalytic reduction) are used for the exhaust after-treatment. The engine meets the latest exhaust emission level V. In addition, the machine offers 180 l/min hydraulics discharge volume and at 6.32 tonnes offers additional tipping load compared to the 9080 (5.29 tonnes).

As a tele wheel loader, in addition to the high level of functionality, great working comfort and excellent safety standards, the 9580T offers a telescopic arm compared to the normal wheel loader with a load arm and therefore has a much higher lifting height and reach at 5.48 m compared to the swing arm machines with 4.26 m. The basic virtues like manoeuvrability, stability and lifting force that characterize an articulated wheel loader of course also apply to a tele wheel loader here too.

The 90-series is optionally equipped with the newly developed Power Drive 370 transmission. This is a variable hydrostatic transmission, which achieves higher tractive forces and travel speeds than the solutions developed until now, and that too retaining all the advantages of the previous drive systems in terms of compactness, energy efficiency and operator comfort.

In addition to the positively known properties for hydrostatic drives, such as easy reversing, good metering, fine controllability, inching and brake force support, the large conversion range of the 45° technology also allows for driving through the entire speed range from 0 to 40 km/h without shifting. This offers a very high driving comfort for the end user, since neither tractive effort interruptions nor shift jerking occur. For the driver, this offers a comfortable, steady quality of driving and a harmonious noise development.

In typical agricultural working situations, such as handling work in the Y-cycle, there is a high demand for constant thrust and tractive forces at driving speeds of 10-20 km/h. The Power Drive 370 transmission meets precisely these requirements thanks to the complete elimination of shifting steps, which is considered a particular advantage in most applications. For application cases that require even greater pushing power, such as in silo applications, the new models optionally offer a 25% increased pushing power of 10.1 tonnes with a simultaneous 30 km/h top speed.

Weidemann has also paid attention to size class too. With a bucket, both the 9580 and the T9580 offer a total length of 7.10 m and a width of 2.39 m with standard tyres. The height of the loader is 3.10 m. The the machine models are equipped with an articulated joint and oscillating axle at the rear due to their size and weight, which guarantees optimum manoeuvrability and traction. The steering angle is to be classified as big at 40° so that the turning radius is 4.90 m over the tyres and the inner radius is 2.45 m.

The 90-series will be able to transport straw with a trailer load of up to 18 tonnes. The following rear couples are available for this purpose: A self-rescue coupling is standard. Optionally, an automatic ball hitch is available. Additionally, the following coupling possibilities are available in connection with a height adjustable hitch block: Automatic ball hitch, K50 ball hitch (car trailer), K80 ball hitch, Piton Fix and CUNA D3. An auto hitch coupling is also offered. This can be turned 90° when not in use so it does not minimise the ground clearance.

In order to safely move trailer loads, both a dual-line pneumatic brake as well as a hydraulic trailer brake are possible. The machines can either be equipped with a general operating licence (ABE) or optionally with an approval according to the EC Tractor Directive.
