Amazone announce global sales lift

While domestic machinery sales have generally been subdued due to drought in the eastern states, a number of companies have recorded growth across the global market. European manufacturer, Amazone is one of the success stories, announcing a 5.3 per cent lift in sales.

In the annual report, the company said the acquisition of the Schmotzer range of cultivation equipment, holding its biennial technology exhibition and a new manufacturing facility at Bramsche as key achievements.

Amazone, joint managing directors and owners, Christian Dreyer and Dr Justus Dreyer said in the report they expected continued growth based on the companies commitment to innovation and product quality. Stating more than 7 per cent of the company's turnover was re-invested into research and development.

Amazone distributor, Claas Harvest Centre, product manager, Craig Hopkins said Amazone aimed to further integrate service and technology under the project "Amazone 4.0".

“Our overriding goal is to improve the profitability of farmers by allowing them to work more precisely and efficiently," he said.

“This is not precision for precision’s sake, the exact application of seed, fertilisers and crop protection products saves time and costs."
