Cotton Board to host meeting about West Texas-funded research

Cotton Board to host regional, update meeting. Registration required. Space limited.

The Cotton Board is hosting a regional meeting to update cotton producers on Cotton Incorporated-funded research in their area. The West Texas Cotton Research Update will take place on January 29th at the USDA Plant Stress Lab in Lubbock, Texas.

This full-day meeting includes updates from Cotton Incorporated, USDA-ARS, Texas Tech and Texas Agri-Life researchers in the morning, followed by afternoon tours of the USDA-ARS Gin Lab and the Fiber Biopolymer Research Institute.

Research topics being presented include: Cotton genetics, plant and soil science, weed science, fiber quality research and ginning improvements/contamination reduction efforts.

“Cotton producers should be fully informed about the research being conducted with their support of the Cotton Research and Promotion Program,” says Bill Gillon, CEO of The Cotton Board. “We want producers to be aware of this work and want to provide insight regarding our Program’s priorities. There is a lot of research being conducted in West Texas, and all across the Cotton Belt. We hope this initial regional update meeting will help cotton growers learn about that research.”
