Hoses without toxic plasticizers: FITT's pioneering solutions

The pipes allow the water flowing inside them to keep intact its purity.

Continuous innovation, high performance, quality of raw materials and safety for end users have always been the key words that have guided FITT in the development of its products.

Water flows inside the FITT hoses, which is the most precious element that exists in nature; a source of life for plants, animals and humans. It is therefore of paramount importance to prevent its purity from being contaminated by external agents.

For this reason, FITT has invested in the search for innovative solutions that maintain both the organoleptic properties of water and the technical-mechanical performance of the hose: this is how Acua was born in 2007, the first PVC hose without phthalates. Phthalates are plasticizers that make the plastic material more flexible, but they can migrate from the hose to the substances flowing into it, thus contaminating them. Phthalates have therefore been replaced by new non-toxic plasticizers, which ensure the purity of the liquids and keep the characteristics of the hose unchanged over time.

Introduced by FITT fourteen years ago for the first time, phthalate-free PVC has now become a European standard: the hoses of the FITT NTS Garden and Pro line, the innovative extendable hoses, FITT Ikon and FITT Yoyo, and the revolutionary FITT Force intensive-use hose, are all phthalate-free.
