Funnel bucket as problem solver.

The sewage treatment plant of the Stadtwerke Soltau in the north of Germany solved an expensive and environmentally harmful transportation problem.

So far, dewatered sewage sludge (approx. 25% residual moisture) has been transported across the country by truck for a fee-based disposal. This cost a lot of money and due to the weight, many trucks were required for the transport. The idea was finally to press the sewage sludge into pellets and then to dry it with the sewage gases to about 3-4% residual moisture. This product is very light and is even used as flammable raw material for the industry.

The problem: The pellets absorb any condensation immediately and this can even cause spontaneous combustion in silo storage due to the flammability.

So they decided on an inexpensive open warehouse in a hall to be able to quickly ventilate the pile in case of self-heating by using a telescopic loader.

However, this resulted in another task. The transport must take place in silo wagons.

How do you get the pellets from the warehouse into the silo wagons?

From another plant in Hessen, the sewage treatment plant got the tip that there is a company Bressel und Lade (us) that is located in Visselhövede in northern Germany (so very close to Soltau) manufacturing Funnel Buckets that solve exactly this problem.

After the shovel was delivered and mounted on the CLAAS Telescopic loader 7055, the 70m³ tanker trucks could be filled. A camera system and a mounted outlet hose make filling the tanker truck easier. With this method, only one truck with sewage sludge leaves the sewage plant every two weeks. And this material can be sold as raw material.
