#Farm Machinery & Equipment
ALL AT THE SAME TIME
I DON'T NEED FRONT HYDRAULICS OR FRONT PTO. A SMALL TRACTOR DOES IT ALL. Clemens Gasser
In the province of Carinthia, in the middle of the Gurktal Alps, lies the municipality of Metnitz, which covers a respectable area of 223 km2. A large part of the approximately one thousand inhabitants is employed in smaller commercial enterprises as well as in agriculture and forestry. So does Clemens Gasser, who runs a dairy farm in an idyllic location at 1,179 meters above sea level.
"Running a farm in our geographical location is not a sure-fire success," says Gasser, or 'Mittlere Grabner', as he is called in the house name. “The work is quite challenging. For example, I don't have enough pasture land around the farm and have to feed it."
In order to be able to present sufficient green fodder, it must of course be grazed. And for this, in turn, an appropriate machine – suitable for the landscape and conditions – is essential. "It was important to me to graze without forage contamination," says the farmer. "And that mowing and loading is done in one pass without having to invest in an additional front mower again."
Gasser came across the self-loading Bonino AB20 TR forage wagon through Mauch advertising and through his own internet research. The towed forage wagon cuts the grass, loads it onto the wagon and automatically distributes it to the feeding tables in the barn. "The best way to graze," says Gasser. “Because I don't need a front mower either. Front hydraulics and PTO are also not necessary in this respect. A small tractor is sufficient.”
In the meantime, the Bonino has also proven itself very well. "The right device in the right place," says Gasser. “It is easy to use and works like an arrow. Because he just does everything at once.”
