Mzuri will showcasing their full range of strip tillage establishment equipment at Cereals 2019 on stand 1038, including the highly popular Pro-Til 3T one pass drill and the Rezult stubble rake. The Mzuri system offers users a weatherproof solution for establishing most crops whilst significantly reducing inputs and protecting the soil and the environment.

In addition, the manufacturer will be launching their latest research initiative aimed at improving best farming practices – ClubMzuri. Further reinforcing Mzuri’s service and aftersales care, the project has been set up to help Mzuri users get the most out of their system by recording and sharing establishment data and best practice techniques. From growers who have been strip tilling for years to those just starting out, the project provides a platform for sharing knowledge and experience to further drive down costs and increase yields.

The manufacturer will be presenting the research findings on their stand 1038 on Day 1 at 3:00pm and announcing the winner of the ‘ClubMzuri Strip-Till Farmer of the Year Award’ who will be chosen based upon their outstanding approach to the system and soil health.

Gathered through face to face workshops over the last 12 months, the first year’s findings have generated interesting results for both existing Mzuri users and those thinking about changing systems. The community reported the reduction in their establishment outlay by an impressive £51/ha and 43mins/ha on average as a direct result of moving from a conventional system to strip tillage. This reflected in two thirds of growers now using their spare time to go contract drilling, bringing in additional income.

For those thinking about making the switch to strip tillage, the project offers a wealth of information to draw comparisons between themselves and similar enterprises based on size, location and soil type. Generated from real Mzuri users’ experiences, the project records measurable, real world data to give growers an insight into how they can get the most out of the system.
