Tong launches next-generation Fieldloader Pro

Veg kit maker Tong Engineering has launched a new Pro-badged Fieldloader model designed to provide in-field and on-farm cleaning and loading of potatoes, carrots and onions.

The company says interest in field loading kits is growing as farmers are keen to reduce crop miles and the amount of harvest-related soil they are carting on roads after loading the crop at the field side.

Tong says these problems are all but eliminated by receiving and cleaning the crop at high capacity straight from trailers filled by the harvester.

The self-contained machine uses a high-capacity reception hopper that feeds one of three crop cleaning units – customers have the choice of an advanced EasyClean separator available with Auto-Touch HMI controls, the high-speed PU coil system or star-type coil cleaning units. There’s a four-man inspection area before the crop transfers to Tong’s new-style foldable cart elevator, which cradles the crop deep into the bulker trailer.

The unit comes with an on-board generator for working in the field, but this can be bypassed for mains power when operating on-farm.

Depending on specification and crop type, the Fieldloader Pro can clean and load up to 150t/hour
